There are limits, which in practice translate into two lines drawn in your notebook: a minimum (floor) below which your margin breaks, and a maximum (ceiling) that protects your brand from the temptation of raising prices just for the sake of it. Between the two, sales flow. If, on top of that, you decide the price can\u2019t vary by more than, say, 3% per day, and you\u2019ll only allow two changes in 24 hours, you\u2019ve turned a vague concept into a concrete routine.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1110\" data-end=\"1175\">The right question is not <em data-start=\"1136\" data-end=\"1160\">\u201chow much do I raise?\u201d<\/em> but <em data-start=\"1165\" data-end=\"1173\">\u201cwhy?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1182\" data-end=\"1206\">Five guiding factors<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1207\" data-end=\"1301\">Think about five terms that shed light on the decision. What works, you keep; what doesn\u2019t, you undo without trauma\u2014like a recipe you can adjust anytime. The outcome of this strategy isn\u2019t the same as a big markdown, but something better: <em data-start=\"2586\" data-end=\"2626\">full control over your product pricing<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2636\" data-end=\"2678\">A race with obstacles: Common mistakes<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2679\" data-end=\"2872\">When implementing a dynamic pricing strategy, certain pitfalls can be easily avoided if you keep the right focus and decision-making mindset. Experts advise paying attention to the following:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2874\" data-end=\"3521\">\n<li data-start=\"2874\" data-end=\"3005\">\n<p data-start=\"2876\" data-end=\"3005\"><strong data-start=\"2876\" data-end=\"2908\">Only looking at competition.<\/strong> This ends in a price war, and in a price war only the one who withstands the most losses wins.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3006\" data-end=\"3134\">\n<p data-start=\"3008\" data-end=\"3134\"><strong data-start=\"3008\" data-end=\"3048\">\u201cChanging for the sake of changing.\u201d<\/strong> Adjusting prices five times a day without rules will only confuse potential buyers.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3135\" data-end=\"3259\">\n<p data-start=\"3137\" data-end=\"3259\"><strong data-start=\"3137\" data-end=\"3165\">Forgetting the customer.<\/strong> If you raise the price, raise the value proposition too (delivery times, returns, service).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3260\" data-end=\"3398\">\n<p data-start=\"3262\" data-end=\"3398\"><strong data-start=\"3262\" data-end=\"3280\">Not measuring.<\/strong> Without a before-and-after\u2014like a two-week A\/B test\u2014it\u2019s impossible to tell. Even simple data tests beat intuition.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3399\" data-end=\"3521\">\n<p data-start=\"3401\" data-end=\"3521\"><strong data-start=\"3401\" data-end=\"3437\">Relying only on AI at the start.<\/strong> Unnecessary. Sophistication comes naturally when your catalog and data demand it.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 data-start=\"3528\" data-end=\"3573\">A working plan (without technicalities)<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"3574\" data-end=\"4073\">Recommendations revolve around starting small with a selection of your catalog. Decide what you want to improve: margin? turnover? visibility? Write down your lower and upper limits (floor, ceiling, maximum variation, frequency). Launch two or three rules related to inventory, competition, and calendar. Let them run for 2\u20134 weeks and track: margin per session, Buy Box presence, stockouts, returns. Scale what works; park what doesn\u2019t.
